Artist research - Drew Milward

Yesterday, the artist Drew Milward came into CCAD to give a talk to us illustration students.
He talked with Dan Mumford, who also came into the uni, however for this particular post, I will be focusing on Drew Milward exclusively.

Drew Milward is an artist who was born in Coventry, and he studied in Leeds for a large number of years.
He has been an active artist/illustrator since 2004, and he has an international base in terms of client work. Drew has held exhibitions in the UK, as well as the US and other countries.

Milward has a distinct style, and uses very bold lines, as well as common use of vivid, and strong colours.
He said that he used to work a lot in the traditional mediums, but has recently changed to working in the digital space in order to produce his art.

Drew has had such large clients as Nike, who saw one of his existing illustrations, and asked if he could remake a version that tied into the Nike brand.

This talk that he attended marks the second time that Drew has came to CCAD, so this gives him a unique opportunity to see how we students have progressed.
