Is my project commercially viable?

In order for my project to be of success, I would like to make some from of monetary income from the zine.
This would make the project both an academic, and financial success.

In order to make money, I must plan out such aspects as the following.
  • The size of the zine.
  • The cost of production and assembly.
  • The retail price, and my profit margin.
Below you can see a crude plan highlighting commercial viability, as well as showing the calculations of my project.

*This plan takes into account the process and costs of using a digital printer only.

My rough notes exploring if the project will be financially suitable.
If I made 20 copies of my zine, consisting of 20 pages long, it would, (going by my rough calculation), cost £2.00 per zine to assemble, meaning that printing 20 zines would cost £40.

Calculations of final costs.
Pooling £40 into the creation of the zine sounds like a big investment for an illustrator with a limited income and budget, however if I sold the zine at the price point of £4.00, it would mean a gross income of £80 in total.
Minus the £40 investment, and that would mean a £40 profit.

In conclusion, as long as I stick to this general plan, I know for sure that this project will be commercially viable, and also worth the investment.
Adding more than 20 pages in the zine will mean a higher investment, but also a greater income, however, this will level out as it balances between input, and output.
