GSM of paper

The gsm of paper is an important aspect to the assembly of a zine, as the higher the quality of the paper, which is measured in gsm, the higher the cost of assembly and production commonly.

Grades of paper determine the quality of paper. The higher the GSM, (grams per square meter) the heavier, and thicker the paper.
As an example, below is a list of some examples when it comes to paper grades.

35gsm to 55gsm
A very thin paper used for such items as newspapers.
The low prices of newspapers are mainly related to the very low quality of paper, which is very cheap.

In order to keep costs of production down, the zine will use a standard gsm of 90-100gsm, which is what printing paper is measured at.
